Spark A Little Flame: A Laugh Out Loud Science Fiction Romance (Make A Little Magic Romantic Comedy) by Jennifer Archer

RITA AWARD finalist Jennifer Archer delivers a story that’s “passionate & funny…a paranormal romance that’s a change from the same old time travel or magical creature scene…”

J.T. Drake: It’s not easy to seduce a woman who can’t see me. But if I weren’t invisible, prim and proper Rosy Peabody would probably have even less of an interest in me. At least as her science experiment, I have her undivided attention & unlimited opportunities to try to win her affection or to at least make her blush that pretty shade of pink that tells me I’ve sparked her temper. So maybe I shouldn’t be in such a hurry to have my image restored . .
Rosy Peabody: It’s not easy to ignore my tingling nerve-endings whenever J.T. & I touch. I keep telling myself that they’re only the after-effects of his electrified state, but lately, just the thought of him provokes the same reaction in me. I wouldn’t give a cocky guy like J.T. a moment of my time if not for the fact that I’m partially responsible for his condition and quite possibly the only person capable of reversing it. And now I can’t help wondering . . . if J.T. ever materializes, will our sizzling chemistry disappear or spark a little flame?

If you love hilarious romantic comedies like Big Sexy Love by Kirsty Greenwood & The Honeymooners by Christina Lauren, & fun love stories with a bit of magic such as Wrong Side of Forty by Jana DeLeon, or romances with a touch of science like Love According to Science by Claire Kingsley, you’ll love Spark A Little Flame & the other titles in Jennifer Archer’s Make A Little Magic Romantic Comedy Series! Watch for Dream A Little Dream, Make A Little Wish, & Be My Little Baby!

Author’s note: Spark A Little Flame is Book 1 of the Make A Little Magic Romantic Comedy Series. Each book in this hysterical series about love & magic stands alone & can be read in any order.

Review:

Spark a Little Flame by Jennifer Archer is a lovely, entertaining feel-good story that leaves you smiling!  With engaging characters that you instantly warm up to, a clever twist on the ‘Invisible Man’ plus an intriguing plot – this is a delightful fun read.

Opposites attract they say, well how about a visible person and an invisible person?  JT Drake is the day-dream heart throb remembered by a lot of women in Pecan Grove, Texas.  Wanting to escape his upbringing by nutty professor Hershel Drake, JT takes a job working as a journalist in LA; he’s also a writer and still highly sought after by women!  Shy, reserved Roselyn Peabody takes a job in Pecan Grove University to come and work alongside her old teacher, Hershel.  Absentminded and topsy-turvy, often forgetting to eat and not too fond of housework, Roselyn avoids men and the chance of getting hurt again.  JT is called home one day by a nosy neighbor to check on his father.  When JT finds out Roselyn’s been helping his dad with his experiments they don’t hit it off.  But when sparks fly between them they’ll need to work out if it’s the experiment or natural attraction.

Behind the surprising love story and the futuristic type of tests taking place in Hershel’s basement is a story of espionage, nicely worked in, giving the story an edge and a thrilling flare.  JT accidentally switches on the machine and is turned invisible.  The trouble is the second part of the experiment was stolen thirty years ago.  Can they catch up with the man who ruined Hershel’s life?  Can the experiment be reversed and JT become visible again?  And is it possible to fall in love with someone you can’t see?

In Spark a Little Flame, Jennifer Archer has created original, interesting characters that readers will certainly fall in love with.  From page one I knew I was going to enjoy this book.  Jennifer Archer’s clever and unique writing style flows with ease, allowing the reader to relax, laugh and enjoy.  Spark a Little Flame is a fun, easy-to-read, divine page-turner.  A wonderful mix of fantasy, romance & science fiction, delightfully amusing, and comes highly recommended by Artisan Book Reviews.
