Review:

The Voice of an Angel: A Mother’s Guide to Grief and How To Thrive After The Loss of a Child by Marcy Stone shows how one mother is dealing with the loss and grief of her beloved daughter. It is a story of recovery and love. Author Marcy Stone relates to readers her story of the sudden death of her child, Sydney. Sydney died as a result of a car accident in 2016. Marcy Stone begins her story as she recounts the special relationship she had with Sydney, and continues to have with her older daughter, Aubrey. Marcy sensed that her time with Sydney would be short, so she made every effort to live with unconditional love towards one another and made the most of each and every day.

After the car accident that ended Sydney’s life here on earth, Sydney would visit Marcy in her dreams, inspire her to be strong and be true to herself.  In her book, Marcy Stone recounts the steps she took towards recovery and a new life.

This book will help and encourage those who have lost loved ones and guide them towards the light of healing and wholeness of life. I was truly inspired as I read the pages of this heartfelt story that Marcy Stone tells. It was a very tragic loss and through her own pain, love and recovery she now is able to help others. The Voice of and Angel is written very well. It will draw the reader in and give them steps to be an overcomer and to be strong. Its message is one of love. It is engaging and full of emotion and promises to help others to rise above the depression that easily sets in after such a horrible loss. Author Marcy Stone promises that any parent can recover and thrive after the loss of their child or loved one.

This must have been a hard book to write, but it is necessary and will help may people in similar circumstances. I can’t fathom such a great loss, but Marcy Stone left me feeling encouraged, enlightened and grateful. This is not a depressing book, it is an all-encompassing step-by-step guide to dealing with grief and all the negative emotions that come with it. It will leave readers feeling a sense of hope as they read the author’s story and glean from the understanding, help, inspiration and encouragement held within the pages. Through this mother’s personal struggles and triumph, readers will learn that life can still be beautiful after such loss. The Voice of an Angel is highly recommend for all to read, even those that haven’t lost any one person, but perhaps the loss of a relationship or any other important aspect of their life.
