Readers’ imaginations will go wild as they are immersed in a magical world that will have them envisioning a land unlike any they’ve ever imagined with their very own elves and giants.

We meet our protagonist, Toby Baxter, an endearing character on the cusp of his journey towards adulthood. Award winning author, Tim Wright with a wonderful writing style and sometimes quirky voice, cleverly uses ‘the hero’s journey’ as an analogy for growing up, a turbulent time we must all go through.  The story translates this into a fantastical world that feels initially like a strange landscape with many paths to tread. Through the eyes of Toby, we experience the highs and lows of growing up, making the story relatable and authentic. Wright encourages readers to listen to wisdom and offers comfort that growing up is natural, even if it is daunting at times. He empathizes that it does not last forever, and you will reach the other side as a stronger person.

The reader is greeted with a charming map at the very start that makes the story interactive and intense. A meaningful, thought-provoking and inspiring message is woven throughout the story that will gently cause the reader to contemplate, and gather gems of wisdom while joining Toby on the greatest adventure they could ever imagine – an ultimate quest full of wonders, creatures, twists, turns, suspense and loads of fun.
