After reading Yurie Kiri’s first book, Moonlight Beach, I had an idea of the treat I was about to start reading with Moonlight Rip Tide: Murder and Magic. I loved the dark sensuality in book one, and I found even more of it here. The characters are complex and unencumbered. Readers may think they know how a certain plot point will flush out, and they’ll be very wrong! I loved the way this story kept me on my toes and the luscious pull Yurie has built into the suspense of this book. Yuri makes it hard not to root for certain characters, and I love that I felt so involved in their well-being. Readers will be happy to know that this is book five in a series that begins with Moonlight Beach; all five of the books have a murder and magic theme to them that’s sensational.
