Brianna Miller returns to Dolvia where tribal women protest the oppressive rule of Rabbenu Ely by self-torching’s in the Cylay Square. Brianna re-establishes her tribal schools and takes on assistant Kelly Osborn who is mixed blood and also a poet.

Kelly visits a neighboring planet Cicero where her aunt Carline Bryant takes over her education. While returning to Dolvia, Kelly meets the Australian adventurer Hershel Henry who has signed on for a tour of Dolvia as a photo-journalist. Henry takes an opportunity to interview the khalif on the opposing side of the tribal wars.

Artisan Book Reviews:

A thoroughly gripping, poignant sci-fi saga, The Body Politic by Stella Atrium entwines an intricate, sophisticated plot around a host of unforgettable characters.

We watch events unfold from three wonderfully different viewpoints. First, we have Brianna Miller. Blending a shrewd business-head with a legendary prophecy, she forges her way forward in a male-dominated planet system. In a time where men appear supreme, she weaves her strategies and determines to outwit them all. I wondered if she was rescuing street urchins as an act of kindness or just using them as pawns in her end-game. I can imagine her answer might be, ‘Could they not be both?’ Secondly, we have Kelly Osborn. Full of self-loathing for going along with Brianna’s plans, Kelly struggles with her education on Cicero. Why would Brianna send her to a place like that? Lastly, we have Hershel Henry. A photographer and journalist, who finds himself in the middle of conflict on Dolvia. What he witnesses will change everything. Facing her destiny and prepared to be no man’s puppet, Brianna begins her rise to leadership.

The Body Politic has a dense and colorful tapestry of political intrigue and budding personalities; combining an exploration of real human frailties with the unfolding of a masterful plot.

Stella Atrium’s rich storytelling made this an unputdownable read. Innovative and provocative, stirring the emotions until you’re glued to the narrative; this could possibly be an all-time genre classic. The Body Politic is literary space opera at its absolute best and comes very highly recommended by Artisan Book Reviews.

The Body Politic is book 2 in The Tribal Wars series. It can be read as a standalone, and is an incredible continuation of Stella Atrium’s, The Bush Clinic (Book 1- The Tribal Wars), which is a multi-award winning novel and which comes highly recommended by ABR and the literary community.
