The Unlikely Adventures of Joe and Nick by Lee Arrowood
A tale of two friends as they grow up in separate parts of the country, but are destined to meet and become friends. This is a tale worthy of Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn. We follow their hilarious, wacky, zany, misadventures from early years through adulthood. Learn the proper application of electricity. Learn about snow skiing. Motivational techniques for soccer players.
How to open a frozen padlock in temperatures below zero. And most of all learn about friends.
A must read for all ages for this year and every year.
“I was reading this on a flight from Florida to California. I was laughing so hard I had to pass it around so everyone else could get the title.” Fred M.
“I was home alone, but found myself laughing out loud as I read parts of it.” Jeane C.
“This is one of the funniest books I have read in years!” Adam C.
From the introduction of The Unlikely Adventures of Joe and Nick, you’ll know Lee Arrowood is an excellent classic storyteller who uses humor as an antidote in an uncanniness way. I’d already started laughing from his description of Joe’s hometown in rural West Virginia, and knew I had to read Joe and Nick’s Unlikely Adventures. I was hooked and the story hadn’t begun, yet! Readers are sure to love this must-read 5 star book.
Each chapter is a new adventure, and what could be better? Joe and Nick take turns telling their own story for they don’t trust the other one to tell it right, even if they were there or had heard it for the umpteenth time.
The author, Lee Arrowood, keeps you entertained and wanting to read the next chapter to see what comes next. For example, the outdoor games in nature in rural West Virginia and Mississippi were vivid making you wish every child could enjoy playing, well maybe not to their daredevil extent, but experience the beauty of living and breathing the fresh mountain air and enjoy the great outdoors.
The childhoods of these two friends had a marked difference, but a unified comradery in making life a fun adventure. Sometimes Southern Fried Chicken is just the thing to unite a family, as in Nick’s case. Note: It’s not what you think!
The Unlikely Adventures of Joe and Nick by Lee Arrowood is today’s version of Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn. The unexpected friendship of Joe and Nick and the recounting of their adventures from childhood through adulthood will leave you wanting to read more from this author. If a good belly-laugh, great well-developed characters and a storyline that keeps you turning the pages quickly, then put this book on your bucket list, look no further – you have arrived.
Lee Arrowood is an ace storyteller. He weaves words on the page one after another, much like a painter uses his brush strokes and his palette of colors to create a masterpiece. You’ll fall in love with the descriptive details punctuating the spontaneous and eventful lives of the duo.
The Unlikely Adventures of Joe and Nick is a witty and fun ecliptic adventure. The story unfolds much like the imaginary path the sun follows in the celestial sphere, coming full circle in its entertainment value. Readers will not want to out this book down. The Unlikely Adventures of Joe and Nick by Lee Arrowood is highly recommended by the Artisan Book Reviews.
